Indications are that small to medium sized enterprises (SME’s) are making a mass exodus away from the larger telecom providers, such as BT, by choosing much smaller independent providers in order to maximise their telecoms budget with tailor-made solutions.
James Doak, Managing Director of Warrington based Redstar Telecom said “We are increasingly finding that customer service is becoming the key requirement. People are tired of being bounced around call centres all over the world when they want to talk to their provider. Larger providers just can’t compete when it comes to managing direct customer contact”
“Redstar Telecom doesn’t label customers with account numbers. We have a direct relationship with every one of our customers and they really mean something to us. We make a point to get to know their needs, how they operate their business, then provide a solution that meets these. Larger providers just don’t have the resources or the hunger to do that.”
According to the latest Annual Survey of Small Businesses’ Opinions, 15% of small businesses found that the biggest obstacle for business success was competition in the market place. However this obstacle has been decreasing annually since 2005, showing that the market place is becoming more competitive and better deals are always being offered.
